Background

Founded in 2015 by Rajesh Sajnani, CEO, CloudHost Technology is a pioneer of personalized, customer-centric cloud services in the UAE. CloudHost provides cloud services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the Middle East. Its private cloud offerings are supplemented by a comprehensive suite of managed services, including security, backup, and disaster recovery. Part of the RVS Group, CloudHost is headquartered in Dubai, UAE, and serves more than 150 businesses across the region.

Nikhil Katara, Co-Founder and Director of Operations at CloudHost, takes up the story: “Each business is unique, and so are our solutions. Our cloud experts work closely with clients to customize their infrastructure, giving them total control over scalability, access, security, and privacy.”

Challenge

Setting up and managing a traditional data center can be a complicated and costly affair. As a result, investing in on-premises technology doesn’t always make sense, especially for SMEs. Instead, more and more businesses are adopting cloud computing.

“Demand for cloud services is high and our client base is growing fast,” confirms Katara. “So much so that we recently decided to expand our footprint and open a new data center, our second, to support client services.”

Since its foundation in 2015, CloudHost’s data center architecture was comprised of a mixture of hardware platforms, including HPE, Huawei, Cisco and Lenovo, inherited from its parent company, RVS Group. The new data center presented CloudHost with the opportunity to build a brand-new hosting infrastructure from the ground up.

Selecting the Best

Based on its positive experience working with Lenovo hardware in its first data center, CloudHost chose to kit out the new site exclusively with Lenovo infrastructure.

“Lenovo delivers excellent solutions at competitive prices,” says Katara. “We know that we can rely on Lenovo hardware to run reliably, which is absolutely critical as a cloud provider. We have strict service-level agreements [SLAs] in place with our clients, so a robust, stable platform is exactly what we need. We’ve also always had a good experience with Lenovo Services, as they’re responsive and easy to work with. Lenovo ticked all the boxes for us.”

He adds: “Another key deciding factor was Lenovo’s partnership with Intel. We’re very proud of the fact that 100% of our cloud services run on Intel cores. We’re delighted that Lenovo servers come with the latest Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, as this helps guarantee consistently high performance for client workloads.”

Why Lenovo? Robust, Reliable Infrastructure That You Can Count On

Working with technology partner Visiontech Systems International, CloudHost implemented 16 Lenovo ThinkSystem SD530 servers, featuring 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, and one Lenovo ThinkSystem DE4000H Hybrid Flash storage array at its new data center.

The systems are connected with Lenovo ThinkSystem NE1032 RackSwitch and Lenovo B6510 FC SAN switches and virtualized with VMware vSphere.

The implementation went well. Everything was completed on schedule without any issues. Visiontech has been with us since day one and they really know their stuff. We trust them to do a great job.” —Nikhil Katara, Co-Founder & Director of Operations, CloudHost Technology

Results

Today, all new CloudHost client environments are hosted on Lenovo infrastructure in the company’s second data center. Powered by Lenovo and Intel® technology, CloudHost’s services can meet even the most demanding SLAs.

Katara remarks: “We serve businesses operating in a diverse range of industries, from manufacturing and logistics to retail. Clients trust us to keep their most critical business applications running smoothly. With the Lenovo infrastructure, we can provide top performance around the clock.”

What’s more, thanks to the scalability and flexibility of the Lenovo hardware, CloudHost can meet ever-increasing demand for cloud services with ease.

“Our client base is growing steadily, and we already have plans to expand the capacity of our second data center,” says Katara. “With the Lenovo XClarity tool, we can standardize and automate a lot of foundation server management tasks, enabling us to deploy new infrastructure quickly and easily.”

With Lenovo and Intel technology underpinning its operations, CloudHost can deliver best-in-class cloud services that enable it to compete with the biggest global players.

The Lenovo infrastructure meets all our needs as a cloud provider: reliable, performant, scalable. Lenovo and Intel are the backbone of our new data center, and we’re excited to keep growing with them in the years to come.” —Nikhil Katara, Co-Founder & Director of Operations, CloudHost Technology
