Hadoop* is increasingly popular for processing big data. Dramatic improvements in mainstream compute and storage resources help make Hadoop clusters viable for most organizations. But to provide a balanced system, those building blocks must be complemented by 10 Gigabit Ethernet, rather than legacy Gigabit Ethernet networking. This study found success by building on a 10GBASE-T foundation that combines Arista switches, Intel® Ethernet 10 Gigabit Converged Network Adapters, and Intel® Xeon® processor-based servers.
